Simmonds Saws Garden Machinery is a long
established company specialising in powered products for use in the
garden, forest or small estate.
With many years of expertise behind us, we combine
experience and knowledge with good facilities to create a package that is
hard to beat.
Our History
During the late Forties and early Fifties, Mr.
D.R. Simmonds, having finished National Service, started a small contract timber
felling business and was using early chainsaws to great effect.
By the mid-Fifties other people were taking an
interest and also began earning a living with chainsaws. Slowly but
surely, Mr Simmonds began selling and repairing chainsaws. Through the
late Fifties, on into the the Sixties and Seventies, the chainsaw developed and
demand grew. At the same time, other new labour-saving devices were
introduced, and hand-held strimmers and hedgecutters became more common.
These, combined with lawnmowers, led to Simmonds Saws Garden Machinery as
we know it today.
